Size guides
Measurements, fixings, colors. Our guides will accompany you step by step to confidently choose your Kurtens curtain, in standard size or made to measure.
Before we begin
You will need a tape measure (or flexible measuring tape) and something to write with. Allow 5 minutes per window. If you have several identical windows, one measurement is sufficient.
1. Measure the width of your curtain rod
Place your tape measure from one end of the curtain rod to the other, not from the window, not from the wall: from the rod itself. Write down this measurement in centimeters.
-
For optimal effectiveness, multiply your dimensions by 1.5 to 2. This will create undulations that will improve the curtain's performance.
Recommended margin
Add 30 to 40 cm to your measurement (15 to 20 cm on each side). This allows the curtain to extend beyond the window and effectively block noise, light, and cold. Without this margin, performance will be reduced.
2. Measure the height
Measure from the ring of the curtain rod (or hook, depending on your type of fitting) to the floor. This is the drop height of your curtain.
Recommended margin
Add a few inches to the height for an elegant drape to the floor. A curtain that is too short loses aesthetic appeal AND insulating performance, as air (and noise) passes through the bottom.
3. Use your dimensions to order
