Kurtens (Kurtens is a brand of WAVE LLC) offers two product lines subject to distinct return policies: standard-sized curtains and custom-made curtains. Your rights differ depending on the type of product ordered.
1. Standard Curtains — 30-Day Return
You have 30 calendar days from receipt to exercise your right of withdrawal, without needing to justify your decision. This period is a commercial guarantee offered by Kurtens, more favorable than the legal minimum of 14 days provided by European regulations.
Acceptance Conditions
- Product unused, uninstalled, unwashed, and unaltered
- Original packaging intact with labels and accessories
- No signs of use (fixing holes, hanging creases, perfume, etc.)
Any curtain showing signs of use cannot be accepted for return.
Procedure
- Send an email to contact@kurtens.com with your order number within the 30-day period
- We will acknowledge receipt within 24 business hours
- Return the product within 14 days to the communicated address; return shipping costs are at your expense. The return is under your responsibility, so we strongly recommend using a shipping method with tracking and insurance. Kurtens cannot process a refund or exchange if the package is lost by the carrier during its return journey.
- Refund processed within 14 days of receipt, using the same payment method
Swiss customers: customs formalities may apply for returns. Kurtens provides all necessary documents.
2. Custom-Made Curtains — No Return Possible
As custom-made curtains are manufactured according to your personal dimensions and specifications, the right of withdrawal does not apply, in accordance with the following legislations:
- France: art. L. 221-28, 3° of the Consumer Code
- Belgium: art. VI.53, 3° of the Code of Economic Law
- Luxembourg: art. L. 222-9 (3°) — Directive 2011/83/EU
- Switzerland: art. 40d al. 1 let. c LCC
No returns are accepted in case of:
- Change of mind or aesthetic dissatisfaction
- Measurement error made by the customer
- Product conforming to the order placed
Tip: Use our measurement guide and contact our customer service before confirming your order if in doubt.
Did you make a measurement error? The Exact-Fit Guarantee (€29.90), available at the time of order, allows you to get your curtain re-made to the correct dimensions for free. Valid for 30 days after receipt.
3. Defective or Non-Conforming Product
Regardless of the range (standard or custom-made), if your order has a manufacturing defect, non-conformity to your order, or transport-related damage, Kurtens fully covers the return and replacement or refund.
Covered Cases
- Manufacturing defect (seams, finishes, technical performance)
- Non-conformity to the order (wrong color, wrong finish due to our error)
- Damage occurred during transport
Procedure
- Check your order upon receipt
- For any visible transport damage: make reservations on the delivery note

- Attach photos of the product and your order number
- We will acknowledge receipt within 24 business hours — a prepaid return label will be sent to you if the return is validated

4. Exclusion Cases
Returns are not accepted in the following situations:
- Customer measurement error (custom-made): if the product conforms to the order placed but the communicated dimensions were incorrect
- Misuse: damage resulting from incorrect installation or abnormal use
- Normal wear and tear: deterioration related to regular use under normal conditions
- Product modification: any alteration made by the customer or a third party without prior written agreement from Kurtens
- Unreported transport damage: visible damage not reported within 3 business days of receipt.
