A curtain hides your clothes and shelves while keeping your storage easy to reach. It slides to the side and does not need the clearance of a hinged door. Do allow room for the fabric when it is open, though.
In a bedroom, a wardrobe curtain also dresses a large visible surface. You can choose a shade close to your walls for a discreet look, or create a contrast with your furniture.
Made to measure lets you cover your opening exactly. You choose the dimensions that suit your layout, without relying on a standard size. This freedom is useful for a wide wardrobe, a tall closet or an alcove to close off.
To hide clothes and shelves completely, choose a blackout range. For a linen-look fabric that filters light, choose light-filtering. All 3 ranges are made to measure.
- Linen-effect light-filtering, the most affordable range. This 100 % polyester fabric weighs 265 g/m² and filters around 70 % of the light. It does not crease or shrink. It comes in 6 colours: Beige, White, Sky Blue, Mauve Grey, Camel and Pistachio Green. For a beige wardrobe curtain with a linen look, discover our light-filtering curtains.
- Single-layer blackout: to hide your storage with a thin, fluid fabric. This 315 g/m² mottled technical linen is 100 % blackout. It is identical on both sides. Discover our made-to-measure blackout curtains.
- 3-in-1 thermal and acoustic blackout. This 620 g/m² fabric combines 3 layers and 100 % blackout. It comes in 14 colours. Check that your rod or track can bear the weight of the curtain at the chosen size. Discover our thermal and acoustic blackout curtains.
First decide where the rod or track will go. Depending on your layout and how strong the surface is, it can be fixed to the wall above the opening, to the ceiling or between the side walls of an alcove. Leave enough distance in front of the shelves so the fabric moves freely without catching on clothes or handles.
Choose hardware suited to the weight of the curtain and its heading. This deserves particular attention with the 620 g/m² 3-in-1 fabric. Check the heading guide to prepare your choice.
Kurtens supplies the curtain, without rod, track or bracket. The headings only concern the top of the curtain. No bottom fixing is supplied. Kurtens does not install; we can put you in touch with an independent installer for a specific need.
To take your project further, read our articles on hanging a curtain without drilling and curtain heading systems.
Measure the width of the opening to cover, then decide where your rod or track will go. Next, measure the height to the point where the curtain should stop. The measuring reference depends on the heading you choose: follow the size guide before filling in the configurator.
For a wardrobe used every day, a curtain that does not drag on the floor makes opening easier. Also think about the space taken up by the fabric when drawn back, and the clearance needed to reach the drawers.
Looking for a 200x200 or 180x200 wardrobe curtain? Check whether these dimensions describe your opening or the curtain you want. The width to order must take into account the look and the heading you choose.
Kurtens offers widths up to 1,000 cm and heights up to 600 cm. Very large widths and very large heights cannot be combined. A height under 150 cm can also be ordered in the configurator. Above 270 cm on one side, the other side is limited to 270 cm. Have our team check your project.
A closet curtain works on the same principle as a wardrobe curtain: it visually closes off storage while staying movable. In front of an open clothes rail, check that hangers and clothes do not stick out into the path of the fabric.
For an alcove, measure the opening and plan access to the shelves once the curtain is drawn back. For a closet with drawers, check that they can open without being blocked by the curtain or its brackets.

Frequently asked questions.
Which curtain to hide a wardrobe?
Choose a blackout fabric to hide what is inside your wardrobe. Kurtens offers a thin, fluid single-layer blackout and a 3-in-1 thermal and acoustic blackout. Both ranges are made to measure.
How to install a curtain in front of a wardrobe?
Plan a rod or track suited to the surface, the weight of the curtain and its heading. Let the fabric move freely in front of the storage. Kurtens supplies the made-to-measure curtain, but does not sell installation hardware and does not install.
Do curtains have to touch the floor?
No, it is not necessary. In front of a wardrobe, a curtain that does not drag on the floor makes daily access easier. Work out the height you want with the Kurtens size guide and the heading you choose.
What type of fixing for curtains?
Kurtens offers 4 headings: 40 mm eyelets, pencil pleat tape, rod pocket and multifunction. Check the heading guide to choose according to your rod or track. No bottom fixing is supplied.
How to hang a curtain without making holes?
The solution depends on the surface, the width to cover and the weight of the curtain. Read the Kurtens article on hanging without drilling and check the load supported by the hardware you choose. Kurtens does not sell rods, tracks or brackets.
What is the thing that holds a curtain called?
It is usually a rod or a track. The curtain attaches to it with its heading. At Kurtens, you choose between 40 mm eyelets, pencil pleat tape, rod pocket and multifunction.
How much does a Kurtens made-to-measure wardrobe curtain cost?
The price depends on the range and on your dimensions: the linen-effect light-filtering curtain is the most affordable range. Configure your curtain to see the price for your choice. Special makes require a quote.
How to choose a 200x200 or 180x200 wardrobe curtain?
A 200x200 cm curtain is 200 cm wide and 200 cm high; a 180x200 cm curtain is 180 cm wide and 200 cm high. If these measurements match your opening, do not enter them automatically in the configurator: the width of the curtain also depends on the fullness you want and on the heading. See the size guide to work out the dimensions to order.
Can I order a curtain for a small closet?
Yes, depending on the dimensions of your opening. The configurator also accepts small sizes, including a height under 150 cm: you pay for the smallest size in the grid that covers your measurements, and the workshop receives your exact measurements.
What if I make a measuring error?
Kurtens offers the Exact-Fit guarantee as an option. It covers a remake if you make a measuring error, within 30 days. Before ordering, check the size guide or contact our team.
